About Wild Silk Sensu Dyed with Asama-yama Lava
“Please note that since each fabric is hand-dyed individually, the color and texture of the lava dye may vary from one piece to another. Thank you for your understanding in advance.
We use finely crushed Asama-yama lava as a dye to hand-dye each piece of Tussah wild silk fabric. While the lava itself is rugged and black, after dyeing, it turns into a light gray. To create contrast, we add some ink. This results in a product that exudes the powerful energy of Asama-yama, with a subdued and sophisticated look.
Each piece has been meticulously crafted by Gouami, a traditional craftsman of Kyoto Sensu.”
