Liver Strap – A Tribute to the Body’s Largest Solid Organ
Our next creation is a liver strap! The liver plays four major roles in the body:
Metabolism: Synthesizing and breaking down nutrients.
Detoxification: Processing alcohol and harmful substances.
Storage: Storing iron (Fe) and vitamins.
Bile Production: Producing bile essential for fat digestion.
As the largest solid organ in the human body, the liver weighs approximately 1–1.5 kg in a healthy adult.
The porta hepatis, located at the lower part of the liver, serves as the gateway for major blood vessels and ducts, including:
Portal Vein: Carries nutrient-rich blood from the intestines.
Proper Hepatic Artery: A branch of the celiac artery supplying oxygenated blood.
Common Hepatic Duct: Delivers bile to the gallbladder.
(Note: The cystic artery branches off from the right hepatic artery to supply the gallbladder.)
During my student days, I found it challenging to memorize the intricate anatomy of these vessels. This inspired me to create a detailed model of this section, making it easier for others to visualize and understand.

Smooth Liver Parenchyma
The liver’s outer surface has a smooth, rounded texture, while its inner side features large depressions and grooves. This contrast highlights the organ’s unique beauty. To capture this anatomical detail, I significantly increased the polygon count during the design process, resulting in a seamless, lifelike finish.
Detailed Falciform Ligament
The liver is covered by various membranes, including the falciform ligament, coronary ligament, and triangular ligaments. These thin and delicate structures were painstakingly modeled to enhance the realism of the piece. I believe these additions bring out the true essence of the liver’s anatomy.
This Liver Strap not only celebrates the elegance of human anatomy but also serves as an educational tool for anyone interested in learning more about this vital organ. Perfect for medical students, anatomy enthusiasts, or collectors of unique handmade creations!
