S.A Arts&Crafts “glass drop object / sakura sakura “

A pale translucent pink glass that resembles cherry blossoms, and a translucent pale blue glass that resembles a clear stream.
A drop-shaped object created by combining these two and adding the sparkle of pure silver foil.

When I saw the finished product, the scene that came to my mind was not a clear stream, but rather a pale cherry-colored haze covering the mountains.
And it was the song “Sakura Sakura”.

“Sakura Sakura” is an old Japanese song that is said to have its roots in “Blooming Cherry Blossoms”, which was composed as a practice song for the koto in the Edo period.
In March, the cold winter ends and the mountains are dyed with cherry blossoms.
It makes me feel that the hearts of people who love the colors and rejoice in the arrival of spring are the same today as they were in the past.

I use a corner of my living room as a small workshop and use a burner to melt the glass.
I feel that the gentle curves created by the tenacity, gravity, and centrifugal force of glass and its transparency are unique to glass.

The bottom of the glass is slightly flattened so that it can stand on its own as an ornament.
It sways when you touch it, but you can decorate it without any problems.

Delicate and elegant colors of nature. It’s difficult to express it as it is, and I can’t say it’s done, but I want to express the kindness and excitement I felt there in my work.

The window where the light hits, on the desk, at the entrance…
