-About Gumnut Babies
The Gumnut Babies were born in the 1910s. Since then the Gumnut Babies has been loved by Australian people for more than 100 years.
May Gibbs, one of Australia’s most famous picture book authors, created the world of the Gumnut Babies and their bush friends. All of the Bush Fairies are modeled on Australian wildflowers and plants.
“Gumnuts” are “eucalyptus nuts”. In Australia, eucalyptus trees are called “gum trees“. The Gumnut Babies are curious and always look at what’s happening in the forest, so they have large eyes. They are always on a playful adventure with the animals of the forest.
